2006 4A State Champions!
The 2006 Guntersville Wildcat football team won the AHSAA 4A State Championship with a 28-27 victory over the Thomasville Tigers. With this win the Wildcats finished the season 14-1. The only loss coming in double overtime to region rival Alexandria. Other than a comeback win against Scottsboro and the loss to Alexandria, the Cats steamrolled their way through the rest of the season with a potent offense and a stiff defense. In the playoffs the Wildcats faced Ardmore (35-0), Brooks (28-16), East Limestone (37-7), and Alexandria (24-3), along with Thomasville in the State Championship game.
